Our Youth Basketball program is designed to teach student athletes the different elements of the game of basketball at each step of the way with the objective of teaching them life skills while learning the game of basketball.
We introduce different elements at each age group as to not overwhelm our student athlete’s with too much knowledge about the game of basketball at any one level.
We offer recreational co-ed youth basketball leagues.
Recreational Leagues
- The goal of our recreational basketball leagues is to provide a safe and fun environment for the student athletes at all ages. The right touch of skill development, teamwork and competition makes the recreational leagues the perfect choice no matter the situation.
- Athletes range from 5 to 14 years of age with varying degrees of skills and experience.
- The coaches volunteer their time to teach the student athlete the game of basketball. The typical recreational coach has their child on the team, so we know they have the best interest of the team.
- The referees are paid for their services and are instructed to offer “teachable” moments during games.
- Weekly 1 hour practice.
- Weekly game.
- Players are guaranteed to play a minimum 50 percent of the game.
- Players receive team uniform which includes a reversible Class Athlete basketball jersey and Class Athlete game shorts.
- 8 guaranteed games (7 regular season, at least 1 playoff game) but can play more depending on playoff success.
- Seasons include summer and the winter holidays.
- Player statistics are not recorded, but team results are recorded (season record and points scored)
Below is a breakdown of our basketball age groups and what you can expect your child to learn in each age group as well as a practice and game schedule.
As you read the details of each age group, a progressive individual and team skills are developed with age. Class Athletes who begin their youth basketball careers early and consistently will have a definite advantage over players who get a late start or inconsistent participation. Players also will develop a sense of how important, powerful, and fun the team concept can be. Parents and coaches will have fun watching their child grow and develop into a skilled and confident person while doing what kids do best, have fun!
